Flagship · Multi-agent reporting

A reporting team that answers in plain language — and stays inside your permissions.

A multi-agent team — one coordinator plus permission-scoped specialists — that turns plain-language questions into governed tables and diagrams, with provenance on every answer and no dashboards to build.

Persona

Operations lead or department head — non-technical, no SQL.

The trigger

On any dashboard, the user asks: “How did we do last quarter versus the quarter before, and where’s the biggest change?”

The workflow

Plan → governed tools → cards.

Illustrative tool ids and risk levels — a host defines its own. The primitives underneath (the governance gate that runs permission, policy and audit, context minimization, the 12 card types) are built and tested, and the data-handling and security controls around them are documented.

01

The coordinator interprets intent, checks the asker’s permissions, and drafts a plan card naming which specialists it will route to and what each will read.

02

On approval it routes to a Metrics agent (read-only aggregation tools returning counts, sums, and rates — never raw rows), an Insight agent that compares periods and flags the largest deltas, and a Visualization agent that composes the output into cards.

03

Every handoff carries references and allowlisted payloads only, and permissions are re-validated at each handoff so no agent accumulates authority the user doesn’t have.

04

Context is minimized before any model call and every output carries provenance — “Based on {dataset} and N sources” — rendered as table → mermaid → result/detail → save-output cards.

Why it matters

Customer value.

Self-serve reporting in plain language, with visuals rendered automatically and scoped strictly to what the asker is allowed to see.

Reads are governed exactly like writes — the model only ever sees minimized references and counts, not raw records.

Reduces dependence on analyst backlogs and one-off dashboard builds; every figure is auditable and permission-safe.

Target: [CUSTOMER RESULT REQUIRES VALIDATION] reduction in ad-hoc reporting requests.

Demo hook

Ask a plain-English question on a dashboard; watch a plan card fan out to three specialist agents and return a table plus a mermaid trend chart with a “Based on…” provenance line — nobody wrote a query or a chart component.

See “Governed reporting & analytics team” running under governance.
